Participants will learn how to use the creative process as a tool for expression, exploration and discovery.

No previous art experience is necessary.

Please wear comfortable clothes.

INVESTMENT: Cost includes art materials.

ABOUT KATHLEEN

Kathleen M. Buday, MEd, ATR-BC is a Board Certified Art Therapist who has worked for over 15 years with diverse populations including pediatric patients, adults with HIV/AIDS, and youth at-risk. Her recent work has focused on individual and group art therapy with hospice patients, grieving children, adolescents and adults, and individuals coping with cancer. She has published on the topic of art therapy and presents nationally on the profession and its various applications. Kathleen has held the position of Assistant Professor in Art Therapy at University of Wisconsin, Superior and Millikin University. She is also a Visiting Instructor at Kalamazoo College.

At the start of her career, Kathleen worked in art galleries and museums where she curated exhibitions, developed educational programs, and promoted the value of the arts as a means of expression for individuals of all ages. She has been engaged with many nonprofit organizations including the Michigan Association of Art Therapy where she held the role of Legislative Chair (2008-2010). Currently, Kathleen works as an art therapist, consultant and educator in Michigan and beyond.
